Special shipping costs apply when ordering frozen fish foods. The cost of shipping & handling is based on weight and destination (1 or 2 Days Air), for as many frozen food a box can carry, a $5.00 additional charge will be added for Dry Ice. The cost will be added to your total. We ship frozen food ONLY on Wednesdays for Fridays arrival.
Please note that Frozen Food and LIVE Fish cannot be shipped together, in the event that an order is placed with both items, we will divide the order in two applying two separate shipping charges.

After your order has been placed, and your shipping date has been assigned, we stop feeding your Cargo so they will not pollute the water in the holding bags during the trip, then we start packing all the orders for that day, and get them ready for 7.00PM pickup.
Your Discus or other Tank-Mates, are wrapped with three Grade A plastic bags, each bag is filled with oxygen and then some methylene blue is added, this will prevent your Fish from getting any possible infection, a sleeping agent is added to the water to keep your fish from using too much oxygen during the trip to you, once you properly acclimate your fish into your aquarium, they will return to normal (usually in less then 12 hours).
We place all the bags into 3/4 inch Styrofoam boxes, add one or two heating pads per box and here they are ready for their final journey to your home or office, every box will have inside your invoice plus all infos needed to acclimate your fish and our policy.
At 7.00 PM the Fed Ex Truck will arrive to collect all the boxes, if you provided us with an e-mail you will receive a tracking number directly from the shipping company.

Acclimating your new Fish
Here are some simple instructions to help you with your new and beautiful Fish.
Place the closed bags into the aquarium – wait about 10 minutes for the temperature to be adjusted and turn the lights off.
Open each bag and add one cup of water from your Aquarium, wait about 10 minutes and repeat the process two more times.
Release the fish into your aquarium, keeping the lights still off and let the fish get used to their new home.
Be patient, as It will take eight to twelve hours for them to adjust and then you can give them their first feeding. Frozen bloodworms are an excellent first choice.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, your fish will be sedated and at times they will tend to lay flat on the bottom of your tank or hide for the first 12 hours…. Don’t worry! Discus Madness guarantees live delivery up to 48 hours from the moment you receive the shipment. If any fish arrives dead or die within the 48 hours period, DO NOT DISCARD THE FISH - Just email us a photo of the casualty as it is possible that we will need for you to send it back to us (at our expense) for proof of reimbursement.
Discus and their Tank-mates are very susceptible to water quality, however, they can thrive quite well in PH from 6.0 to 7.5 - hardness from 50 ppm to 300 ppm and temperature of 83 - 88 F, as long as changes are not drastic, they will do just fine.
Keep up with a minimum of one water change per week, 25% to 50% of tank volume and replace with aged water of the same parameters.
With proper feeding and water changes your precious Fish will give you years of enjoyment.
With time, water from your Aquarium will evaporate and this will cause the Hardness level to increase, just add R/O water or distilled water to the tank a little at a time until it’s back to normal (Provided by you local pet store).
Always Remember: Anytime you receive new fish, it is wise to quarantine them in their own tank for two to four weeks. All hoses and nets should be kept separate or soaked in a Clorox solution, making sure to rinse thoroughly. Before adding new fish to your existing stock it is always wise to introduce a resident fish to the new arrivals. After one or two weeks, if all fish remain healthy, they can then be safely added to your existing stock.
Medication: Most of the times you will not need this, but keep some Anti fungus medication that will not damage your biological filter, Maracyn or Maracyn 2 always works well for us. Monitor all your Fish and follow directions before using.
